Bachelor Program

1 - Admission and Registration Conditions

Candidates who have a high school diploma and achieve certain success in the central exams conducted by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) or in the international exams accepted by YOK (Council of Higher Education) are placed according to their preference and order of success. The candidate who has the right to become a student completes the final registration with the documents determined within the period announced by the university.

In addition, successful students who graduated from vocational schools in the field of mechatronics are admitted with DGS (vertical transfer exam) conducted by OSYM.

2 - Recognition of Prior Educations

Recognition of prior educations in universities is performed by way of vertical and horizontal (intra - university and inter - university) transfers within the scope of "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree Programs, Double Major, Minor and Inter - Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions" published in the official newspaper dated 24.04.2010 and numbered 27561 determined by YOK. Exemption assessment and/or exam are given to the students at the beginning of the academic year regarding the courses they have taken in their previous education programs. Students who are thought to meet the expected qualifications from these courses or students who succeed in the exams may be exempted from the relevant courses in the first four semesters of the curriculum.

3 - Transition to Higher Degree Programs

Students who successfully complete their Bachelor Program can study in graduate programs, provided that they get a valid score from ALES (academic staff and graduate education entrance exam) and have sufficient English language knowledge (with the scores obtained from exams such as YDS (foreign language exam, etc.).

4 - Assessment and Consideration

In the department, different evaluation methods such as homework, practice and project application are applied depending on the course quality and necessity in addition to the midterm and final exams. Exams can be in the form of a classic exam or a multiple choice exam. In homework and project evaluations, performance evaluation can be made with a written exam or an oral exam. The grade of a course is determined as a result of the evaluation of the above elements and is given in letters. The letter score and the coefficient of each grade are given below.

In addition, other issues related to quantification and consideration are stated in the third part of "Erciyes University Associate and Bachelor Degrees Education Regulations".

5 - Graduation Requirements

The student who has passed all the courses within the scope of the program and completed his internship is awarded the title of Mechatronics Engineer. To be considered successful in the course, the letter score of the course must be CC and above (or no FF, FD, DD and DC scores). Students must have passed all the compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum of the year they entered the department, must provide at least 240 ECTS credits in the courses successfully completed, and have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 for graduation. These conditions are also valid for students who perform vertical and horizontal transfers to the department.

6 - Employment Opportunities

Mechatronics engineers can work in public institutions and private organizations. They can work in many areas from production line to maintenance, from R & D department to design departments in factories. They can work in any company where electromechanical systems are used, as well as in factories that produce these systems or in automation companies that provide R & D services. They can work in existing institutions and organizations in a very wide area, or they can become a company owner by establishing their own company if they want. In addition, they can continue their graduate education and pursue an academic career in universities by studying masters and doctorate programs.
