1 - Admission and Registration Conditions
In order to apply to mechatronics engineering doctorate program of our university, those who have a bachelor degree or a masters degree with thesis, a masters degree or a bachelor degree of at least 10 semesters excluding preparatory classes must have at least 55 from ALES score (academic staff and graduate education entrance exam). Except for preparatory classes, those who will apply with a bachelor degree of less than ten semesters must have at least 80 from ALES score and at least 80 out of 100 or 3 out of 4 bachelor graduation grade point average. Applicants to doctorate / art programs must get a score of at least 55 from YDS (foreign language exam) or an equivalent score from an exam whose equivalence is accepted by Interuniversity Board. In order for foreign national candidates to be admitted to graduate programs, they must have a diploma of a higher education institution in Turkey, or a bachelor or masters degree, and a diploma of an institution accepted as equivalent by YOK (Council of Higher Education). Foreign students who will apply to the doctorate program must get a score of at least 55 from YDS in one of foreign languages accepted by Interuniversity Board, other than their native language, or an equivalent score from an exam accepted as equivalent by the Interuniversity Board. The Senate may increase minimum scores if necessary, depending on the characteristics of the programs. Foreign students who graduated from a higher education institution in Turkey are subject to the same conditions as students from Republic of Turkey regarding the ALES score. They are required to obtain an equivalence certificate from YOK and a Turkish proficiency certificate from TOMER (Turkish Language Learning Center). Turkish proficiency certificate is not required in the departments that teach in a foreign language. Institute Board is authorized to determine entry requirements for foreign students. In evaluation of student admission to doctorate programs; If there is no interview, the success score is calculated by taking into account 50% of ALES score, 30% of masters grade point average and 20% of foreign language score. In the departments where an interview exam is given, 50% of ALES score, 15% of masters grade point average, 15% of foreign language score and 20% of the interview exam are taken into account. Except for preparatory classes, bachelor grade point average is used to calculate the success score for those who will apply for a doctorate with a bachelor degree of less than ten semesters. The success score must be at least 60. The candidates with above 60 points are placed in the relevant programs according to announced quotas, in order from the highest score. In case of equality of points, the candidate with a higher ALES score is preferred. The candidate who does not take the interview exam is considered unsuccessful.
