Head of Department Message
The rapid and radical change brought about by rapid technological advances and developments in recent years makes itself felt in almost every field, including social life style and cultural activities. It is not possible for higher education, research and development (R & D) fields not to be affected by this rapid change.

With the effect of technological developments, many new products and services have emerged and a significant part of these products has been formed by synergistic combination of mechanics, electronics and computer technologies. This combination has reached such a point today that it is no longer correct to look at the design and development of these products from a single perspective. These developments necessitate an interdisciplinary study and coordination between basic engineering fields such as machinery, electrical-electronics and computers. Mechatronics engineering is an engineering department that emerged with the aim of providing this interdisciplinary study and coordination. Basically, it aims to use machine, electrical, electronic, computer and industrial technologies as complementary elements and to lead the design and production of new products with R & D support.

The department, which started as a masters program in the 2005 - 2006 academic year, started a 4 - year bachelor program in the 2009 - 2010 academic year by taking 80 students with daytime and evening education.

As a result, a mechatronics engineer will always be one step ahead of the engineer who graduated from other engineering disciplines in terms of professional practice, staff employment and design and control areas in sectors for advanced technological production.
